Das Große Buch der Oldtimer – Ingo Seiff

Book description in English and German (Deutsch):

Das Große Buch der Oldtimer written, in German, by Ingo Seiff is a big and wonderfully illustrated coffee-table book. This is the last and most complete edition of the book that has appeared in several editions since 1990. Ingo Seiff takes the reader and the ‘picture watcher’ through a social history of the automobile. The story starts in the pioneer age where the Germans and the french invented and developed the automobile. You will read stories about Louis Renualt, Marc Birkigt (Hispano Suiza), Ettore Bugatti, Karl Benz and Gottlieb Daimler, Henry Ford, Ferdinant Porsche, Adam Opel, August Horch, Claude Johnson (Rolls-royce), Wilhelm Maybach and many others. You will read about the early races in Europe, Peking-Paris of 1907, the French Grand Prix and circuits like Brooklands, Indianapolis, Avus and the Nürburgring. What we like very much is the fact that the writer included a chapter about women and motorcars. You see this is a mighty interesting book, a REAL BARGAIN!
The book is in FINE, superb, condition throughout. The dust jacket is excellent with only some scuffing marks and some slight superficial creasing at the top and bottom. Please study the many photos of the actual book carefully, they form part of the description. “Enjoy the Ride!”
