Here we have a fabulous and ultra rare vintage original late 1940s / 1950s BUTLERS ‘Unispot’ SEARCH SPOT-LAMP in EXCELLENT original condition! This lamp was manufactured in the late 1940s / 1950s by Butlers in Birmingham, England. These adjustable lamps were usually fitted to the A-pillar (pre-war cars and fixed-head cars), the extreme rear edge of the front wing (roadsters like MGA, TR2, Healey 100), or to the scuttle, within reach of the driver. The head of the lamp can be moved freely in any direction when the lever-lock is released. The lamp (55 Watt 12 Volt bulb) produces a very intense and well concentrated spot of light! The lamp measures 21 centimetres (cm) in height (measured from the base) and the lamp head is 10 cm deep. The lense measures 11.5 cm in diametre.
This about 70 years old search lamp is in excellent condition! The inside, the reflector and the glass are in like new condition. The chrome shows some slight surface scratches; NO pitting or rust! The lamp-head stays in position perfectly! This Butlers Unispot search lamp will be a superb period original addition on any 1930s, 1940s or 1950s British automobile! “Enjoy the Ride!”
