Lucas LR/FT 6 lamps are the CORRECT TYPE for 1950s and 1960s British cars. Lucas LR/FT 9 and LR/FT 14 lamps are the correct type for late 1960s and early 1970s British cars. The Lucas SLR/SFT 576 spot and fog lamps (with the chrome nipple on the glass), which you see on many Austin Healey, MG and Triumph classics, are only correct for 1930s to early 1950s British cars.
We are STRONG advocates of long-range spot-lamps! Why? On any road-trip with your classic car in Europe you will find yourself in the pitch dark after sundown in rural areas. Especially on the winding roads of Great Britain, France, Austria, Switzerland, Italy and East European countries. You will find that your standard lamps (unless extra Halogen spot lamps were factory fitted) are very inadequate in lighting the road and the dangers ahead. Be prepared and add a SEA of light to your classic! „Enjoy the Ride!“
