NINE LIVES PLUS – The Hon. Mrs Victor Bruce

So many books about male racing drivers and record breakers… Here we have the autobiography of Mrs. Victor Bruce, a lady who definitely wasn’t afraid of anything… At the age of 15 she appeared in court for speeding on a motor-cycle, in 1927 she won the Coupe des Dames in the Monte Carlo rally driving an AC sports car. She raced at Brooklands and she drove up to the arctic circle just for the fun of it. Then she tells about her Channel crossing in a boat with outboard motor, flying to Japan in a tiny aircraft… single handed… Mrs. victor Bruce was also the first woman pilot testing air-to-air re-fueling for the Air Ministry. A very entertaining read indeed!
This hardcover book is in excellent, near fine condition. The extreme edges of the spine are a little rounded by years of handling. Inside very bright and clean. The dust-jacket is excellent and it is, I believe from new, protected by a plastic cover. Please study the many photos of the actual book carefully, they form part of the description. “Enjoy the Ride!”
