Description
The Nomad Airguide compasses were sold new in the USA, in Europe these compasses are rare items. The silver / grey models were made from the early 1960s until the early 1970s. From then also black models became available. The compasses can be magnetically adjusted with adjusting screws in the bottom. The compass measures L x W x H: 7 x 6 x 8.5 centimetres and it weighs 130 grammes. The ‘Sebring’ 1601 model features a metal mounting bracket for fitment to the windshield or dash-top of your car. The compass can be mounted with the self adhesive pad or it can be bolted down with two screws. This NOS over 50 years old compass still features the original adhesive pad. If you wish we can exchange the old pad for a much stronger and more durable modern black high adhesive version.
These compasses have a push-button, battery operated lamp inside. Regretfully the old lead-jacket AAA-size batteries are no longer available in Europe. Handy customers are able to connect a wire and fit a green or amber 12V LED lamp to light the compass from the inside at night!
These compasses were fitted to all possible ‘continental’ (sports) cars in period. The compass will be a fantastic period accessory and historic touring / rally / holiday aid in your beloved classic car! “Enjoy the Ride!”
